Workshop “The Language Artist as Language Model”, by Mark Amerika
May, 2; 15:30pm; casa comum (Reitoria da Universidade do Porto)
In this workshop, and in his capacity as visiting researcher at
FLUP - Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto, Mark Amerika will investigate the emergent field of “prompt engineering” in the conceptual and rhetorical arts. Titled “The Language Artist as Language Model”, this workshop is part of CODA 404 - 2eR in DH, a cycle of lectures/workshops organised by the Centre for Digital Culture and Innovation. This initiative will be open to the community of teachers, researchers, and students of the University of Porto, as well as to the general public.
#CODA 404 - 2eR in DH is a cycle of lectures/workshops exploring the multiple ways in which research in the field of digital humanities may stray or deviate from 'correct' or 'expected' practices and methods. Intended to be a thought-provoking series of talks for anyone interested in the intersection of technology, art, and humanities, these lectures will present unconventional perspectives on the ways in which digital tools and methods can be used to challenge and subvert traditional ways of thinking and creating.
